Increase Instagram Follower is the goal of many people. Instagram is, of course, an ideal place for companies of all types and sizes to gain visibility. However, growing an engaged and loyal audience in the app isn't an easy task. In this article, I will explain how to grow on Instagram with the best techniques of the moment.

If you ended up clicking on this article, I will make a hypothesis and assume that you are interested in growing your Instagram account. 'How to get followers on Instagram?'  is a question in every marketer's mind. Unfortunately, most of the articles published on the subject are too vague or too specific for the case, and mostly present a couple of low-impact and time-consuming ideas.

In addition, these Instagram follower growth strategies need to be updated almost every time Instagram updates its ranking algorithm: there is a good chance that the tips shared in 2017 are obsolete, because, Instagram has changed a lot in the last 2 years. During that time, I tested ridiculous amounts of different methods for growing my accounts and clients.

Through these experiences, I have written a series of universal and effective ways to get followers on Instagram. In my attempts to organize them somehow, I came up with this step-by-step guide for growing followers on Instagram.

But before starting, it's time to make a clarification: the magic button that will suddenly bring you 1,000, 10,000 or 20,000 followers does not exist. When it comes to how to increase Instagram followers, timing is everything. Yes, there are a number of activities you can do to increase your following. However, suddenly going full speed with all of them will not lead to anything remarkable, as the effectiveness of each action changes after reaching a certain goal.

For example, it doesn't make sense to buy a shout-out on your account for $ 100 from a great influencer while you have 10 followers. Yes, you may get some followers from this, but the price per follower would be unreasonably high. It would be much more effective when you have already established a strong identity and followed on Instagram, and you are trying to accelerate the growth effect.

Okay, just chat, let's move on to the real guide: how to increase Instagram followers ...

Step # 1: growth from 0 to 100 Instagram followers

Okay, now you have a brand new account and you need to build initial momentum and increase Instagram followers.

If you already have a business or brand with a somewhat established community, getting that initial follow-up shouldn't be a big challenge. Send a newsletter to your existing customers, inviting them to follow you on Instagram.

Remember that when you want people to do something, you have to give them an incentive. In this case, a discount for your products for the first 100 followers may work perfectly. If you have a large enough email list, you can divide the offer so that the first 100 followers get a 30% discount, the next 100 a 20% discount and so on, so as not to discourage those who may have opened the email later. Before sending the email, make sure you already have some interesting posts to give an idea of your brand.

If you don't have an existing customer/follower community, you can talk to your friends, family or colleagues and ask them to follow you. This is one of my favorite systems because you can get the initial follower base quite easily even without publishing any content (however, I would still suggest having at least one post there to start with), and if you are one of those people with a large family and a group of friends, you could get 100 followers pretty quickly. Also, if you have a website, you can acquire any visitor to the site by adding an Instagram Follow button, to make sure the audience knows where they are on social networks!

After completing this initial step, it's time to choose a strategy to increase Instagram followers and grow your base to at least 100 followers.

Strategy 1: "Something is happening ..."

This strategy is fine to use if you have some type of ad coming soon - a new website, a product, a gift, etc.

Create an attractive profile picture and engaging witty biography - don't be afraid to insert some emojis if it's something that works with your audience. If you have a link to your homepage, an email subscription page, or literally any other link that could potentially grow the relationship with your followers, add it!

Even if you haven't launched your site correctly yet, this adds credibility to your brand: start inserting the link to your own "Coming Soon Page".

When writing a biography on Instagram, make sure you are very clear on what your account will be. If you are planning to start an e-commerce business, then say so. If you are giving away free marketing tips, let them know. Maybe you're throwing a giveaway for the top 100 followers? They should know. Offer people an incentive to follow you, even if you currently have nothing.

If you want to go one step further (and you should always), publish at least one post that is beautiful and send your message. This will help you get followers on Instagram, as it allows potential followers to know what it is, what kind of posts they can expect from you and excite them about your personal brand!

Unfortunately, setting up your account won't help you get followers on Instagram. Look for accounts that are in your niche or in a niche similar to yours and that already have a substantial following (I would not go higher than the accounts with 10k + followers). Once these accounts are identified, start following at least 10 of them and be sure to follow around 50 of their followers as well. If you want to take one more step (and still, you should), you can check the profiles of those 50 followers before following them, to make sure that they actually adapt to your target audience.

Here is the important step: make sure you interact with the accounts you follow regularly! Watch their latest posts, leave comments on them, reply to their Instagram Stories and/or simply write a direct message where you present yourself in a sentence and mentions that you have opened a new account and that you would like to see them among your first followers (with the possibility for them to get the incentive you wrote in your biography).

The personal approach of the direct message in combination with regular engagement is a great tactic to get followers on Instagram, especially if you have not chosen a too large account and they will actually see your message. You should also do this in the later stages, but it is especially important when you are starting out.

Strategy 2: "A Rising Star"

If, on the other hand, you don't really have anything big coming up or if you are interested in developing a personal brand (models, photographers, speakers, etc.), then you can use this strategy.

Everything we discussed in Strategy 1 is still useful. You should work on your bio description, explain who you are and what your account is about, reach other accounts in your niche and interact with their followers.

The main difference here is that you have to build your feed BEFORE trying to increase your followers. Remember, you will not push people to your next offer to increase Instagram followers: you will instead guide them to your posts.

Here's the big question:

How many posts should you post before trying to reach the most followers? In my opinion, at least 9-12 posts would be a good starting point. This means that when someone lands on your profile there is enough content to portray you and/or your brand. Keep in mind that your posts must complement each other to have a unique and consistent image.

Having a nice layout for your images is really important. Yes, every single image works to encourage the involvement of your Instagram followers who see the posts in their feeds. However, the general appearance of the grid is one of the most important (if not the most important) things in helping you get followers on Instagram. Show that you take your brand seriously and let them know that they can consistently expect similar quality content.

If you decide to proceed with 12 initial posts, I would suggest posting them at least within 2-3 days. It depends on how often you plan to publish in the future, but personally, I think having all 12 posts published in one day doesn't seem organic at all. (This, however, is only my personal preference, and if you are very anxious to get started, kick yourself out and publish them all immediately.)

In each post, include a lot (30 per post) of different hashtags to make your initial posts more easily identifiable for potential followers. It's important to show good involvement in your posts from the start. I suggest choosing both hashtags that have very few post shares (perhaps like 1k-20k), in addition to the very popular ones (10mil +). It is likely that you will only start increasing Instagram followers from this activity! The most important thing to remember is that your hashtags must be relevant to the content of your post.

If you think it makes sense for your brand, you can also combine these two strategies to get followers on Instagram - let us know how it goes in the comments below the article.

Summary:

  • Create an attractive bio with an incentive to follow you: an offer, the posts themselves or both
  • Regularly engage people and brands who may be interested in your content
  • Work on your first posts to develop your style/layout
  • Search for more or less relevant hashtags and use them in your posts

Let's move on to step # 2

Step # 2: growth of up to 1,000 followers on Instagram

Once you apply the techniques described for step # 1, the following strategy will really give you a further boost to get followers on Instagram. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Identify some larger accounts (50k + followers) similar to yours or that are in the same sector with the same target audience that you are trying to reach.
  2. Check if their followers are real (some great tools for doing this are the following: Fameaudit, SocialAuditPro)
  3. If most of their followers are real, open the list of followers and start following these accounts (personally I suggest following accounts that have a person in the profile photo instead of a logo)
  4. Start checking who isn't following you and stop following these accounts. There are a lot of apps for Android and iOS to do this - you can do an online search or use buy Instagram followers UK, which is the app that I use and for which I made a specific video tutorial. Just click on the image below to access my video tutorial.

People are more inclined to follow Instagram accounts than:

  • They seem real

  • They have many followers
  • They have a well-designed post feed

In addition to the follow/unfollow strategy, you should start interacting with larger accounts (as long as they are not direct competitors).

First, turn on notifications for these accounts. Whenever they publish something, be the first to like and leave a genuine comment.

Try writing something related to the caption or post: the more human and real you are in your comment, the better! Ask specific questions or add your opinion. This will show other Instagram users in your community that you are genuinely interested in.

To reach 1000 followers, I would suggest combining the follow/unfollow strategy with the strategies covered in the previous step!

Secondly, when you start reaching 1000 followers, it's a good idea to start thinking about planning your posts on Instagram. This will give you more time to create content, interact with your audience and continue to get Instagram followers uk.

Step # 3: growth of up to 5,000 followers on Instagram

Now that you have a nice basic foundation, it's time to move even faster. I'm not saying you should stop doing what you did previously. I think the previous methods are fantastic even if you have passed a score of 20,000 followers. However, adding other methods from this point forward could yield the same, if not better, results with less effort.

•             First, you should start using engagement groups, better known as Instagram Pods. If you haven't heard of it, you should read the following article to understand which engagement groups are and how they work: increase your organic coverage on Instagram with engagement groups, better known as Instagram Pods.

•             Second, consider investing in advertising on Instagram. If you are building a brand (and not just posting pictures of your cat), Instagram advertisements will be quite useful at this point.

•             Third, definitely start planning your posts on Instagram. Once you reach this level, every minute of your time you invest on Instagram matters a lot.

To post advertisements on Instagram, you need to switch to a company account. If you don't have it yet (or if you don't know if you have it or not), there is a very simple way to activate it:

1.            Go to your profile and click the settings button next to  Edit profile

2.            Scroll down until you see  Switch to company profile   (if you already have a company account, you will find  Switch to My Account  )

3.            Click and follow the instructions to set up a company profile (you will need a Facebook page that you must be an administrator of).

You can promote your existing posts or connect your account to Facebook and create an ad from the Facebook Ads Management panel. Try different targeting options and find out which type of follower you get more easily or which increases your engagement rate (depends on the post and the goal).

I would suggest creating short video ads and choosing Instagram Stories as ad placement. This is still a relatively underutilized placement, which probably produces a better ratio than regular feeds.

Finally, if you have established relationships with Instagram influencers, don't forget about them ...

Influencers are real people! If you want to get close to one of them and work on it together, be sincerely interested in what is happening in his life. If you're not shy, record a short video of yourself as a conversation starter and send it as a direct message. You will definitely stand out from other accounts with which it may have conversations.

If you select multiple accounts as recipients, make sure you don't create a group chat, but send them separately. Otherwise, it doesn't seem very personal.

Summary:

1.            Use engagement groups (Instagram pods)

2.            Post advertisements to drive traffic to your profile and posts

3.            Build quality relationships with influencers

Step # 4: growth of up to 10,000 followers on Instagram

Reaching the result of 10,000 followers on Instagram is an excellent goal.

Get the huge advantage of being able to add links to your stories on Instagram. This opens up an extraordinary opportunity to start monetizing your Instagram account.

Keep doing everything you've done so far to get Instagram followers. Of course, if something seems to give no return, stop doing it and focus on things that have the greatest impact! You should revisit your Instagram marketing strategy every step of the way to make sure you stay on track!

Now, since you have a good follower base, you should think about ways to get help with the promotion:

Tag a friend

One of the best ways to get people to promote your content is by simply asking them to tag their friends. This can actually be done with any post you make. It works well with emotionally powerful content - quotes, fun and/or inspiring videos, animal posts, etc. In your post caption, you can include something like "Tag a friend", "Tag someone who inspires you", "Tag someone who should do this" and so on.

The content must be really good though. This is the key to this case. If you don't get emotionally involved, people aren't likely to tag others! Host a contest

Offer a prize your followers can't refuse! They can be books, gadgets, hats, shirts, Amazon gift cards, a product you sell, etc.

Summary:

  1. Encourage your followers to become brand ambassadors
  2. Create posts where they can tag a friend
  3. Run a contest to increase the reach of your posts

Step # 5: growth of up to 20,000 followers and more on Instagram

Everything we've covered before can definitely be used to grow your account and help you increase Instagram followers.

However, I want to give my final suggestions which I have seen give a good return, especially when you have exceeded the number of 10,000 followers.

Like I said, having more Instagram followers than 10k is a great result. It gives you credibility and you are no longer another random account.

With that said, you should start thinking about creating a voice outside of Instagram. Having more than 10,000 followers opens up monetization opportunities, and you should take advantage of it and focus on creating your entire online presence rather than an Instagram account.

I mean you can do it, but it's actually your choice.

Start thinking of your Instagram as a business. What problem are you solving? What value are you offering? What do your followers get from your posts?

When you've identified these things, look for where your potential audience hangs out and start delivering value.

Here are some ideas on what to do:

  • Reply to relevant YouTube comments

  • Answer the relevant Quora questions
  • Talk to people on relevant Facebook groups
  • Post content in relevant forums
  • Write blog articles that your audience could follow

These are just a few examples of how you could drive traffic to your profile and work towards increasing Instagram followers. As Warren Buffet said: "Don't depend on a single income stream." So why should you just depend on Instagram's ranking algorithm to get followers on Instagram?

Now, this may seem like a lot of work at first. But once understood, it becomes relatively easy. Alternatively, you can outsource most of these things. Let me give you one last method: the shoutouts.

You can agree on several ways to make them. For example, they can be normal posts, video posts shoutouts or shoutouts in Stories.

There's a reason I haven't mentioned them yet. In my personal experience, getting shoutouts when your account is still small can be expensive and unnecessary.

Of course, you can do S4S (shoutout for shoutout) with someone who has similar content and is of similar size even when you both only have 100 followers. But in my opinion, it doesn't make much sense to start promoting other accounts while your account is still in its infancy. It is a little daunting for your followers.

However, if you have a close relationship with someone and their content resonates with you, the shootout will also be more organic for your followers. Otherwise, 10k would be a good starting point for starting this strategy.

You can try to arrange some sort of deal, but most of the time you will have to pay. Talk to different accounts to get an idea of what they are worth. A shootout from an account with 100k followers could cost you around $ 50. Furthermore, the amount of new followers you will receive from a session depends on your content, your biography, the number of followers, the relationship between followers and followers, etc. (See point 2).

Summary:

  1. Establish an online presence outside of Instagram to continually drive traffic to your account.
  2. Collaborate with other Instagram accounts to make the shootouts.

Conclusions

In this article, you have seen how to increase Instagram followers! Instagram now has over 1 billion monthly active users. This is a huge social test that they managed to create a platform that people really love.

As a result, it is attracting a growing number of brands, companies and freelancers who want to grow their presence and use Instagram as a channel to increase sales. Although it is always more difficult than ever to stand out, I am confident that with the help of this guide + your creativity, you will be ahead of others in the blink of an eye!

Many marketers probably won't agree with me on this matter, but recently I've noticed that posting more content doesn't necessarily make your account grow faster. Make friends with other "Instagrammers" rather.

In the beginning, I used to publish twice a day every day. A week, I only posted 2 times or so, but I was very active on the platform, leaving comments and likes everywhere, reaching out to users with whom I would like to collaborate in the future, and so on.

The result?

Igfollowers.uk was gaining more daily followers than ever.

The moral of the story is that you don't have to go crazy to publish tons of content. Publish a few times a week, but make these posts absolutely fantastic. Use high-quality images / videos and write longer captions that are engaging and useful!

To make the content creation process less demanding during an already busy week, spend at least a couple of hours a week preparing preprogrammed Instagram content.
